Snezana Stanimirovic is a Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor in the Astronomy Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
She moved to Madison after working as a research associate in the Radio Astronomy Lab, at the University of California Berkeley. Before Berkeley, she spent three years on the island of Puerto Rico, working at the Arecibo Observatory (1999-2002). She earned her undergraduate degree from the Department of Astronomy , Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Belgrade (1991-1996), and her PhD at the University of Western Sydney (1996-1999) – jointly supervised by the Australia Telescope National Facilities.
